Facilities & Courses
Bainbridge studios provide a limited amount of individual spaces for a selection of practising artists. In addition to their personal spaces, resident artists have access to the screen-printing and intaglio facilities. Artists are also offered the gallery to produce larger works when not in use.
Twice a year artists are encouraged to show case their work as part of the May and October open studios.
To maintain a professional working environment a selection process has been implicated. We ask artists wishing to apply to fill in our application form and send at least 3 jpgs with CV or web address.

Photoshop Course
Level 1
Date: 19th March
Time: 10:30am - 2pm
Places: 4
Fee: £75
This course is a detailed introduction to Photoshop. Covering key skills in image enhancement and manipulation it is aimed at giving students the ability to comfortably navigate through the essentials of Photoshop and not be intimidated by the overwhelming and colossal programme that it is.
Level 1 will cover a basic knowledge of the tools and workspace and introduce students to tonal and colour corrections, layers, working with text, making selections, composite images, black and white as well as the very basics such as image size, file management, cropping and preparing photos for print and web.
Photoshop is something that can be quickly shown and quickly forgotten so it is encouraged that students have access to a computer outside of class and keep up some kind of practice. It is also encouraged for students to bring in some of their own images to work with. Due to the small size of the class there will be time available to work on a one to one basis and for students to highlight what they would like to learn on the course and request specific topics to be covered in Level 2.
Level 2
Date: 16th April
Time: 10:30am - 2pm
Places: 4
Fee: £75
This is a continuation of Level 1 aimed primarily at those having completed the first part but also suitable for those that have a basic knowledge of Photoshop and feel that they would benefit from something more than an 'introduction'.
Level 2 will be a recap of the skills learnt so far with emphasis on putting them all into practice and ensuring that participants can gain confidence in what they've learnt so far and apply them effectively. It will also cover further use of the Photoshop tool box, a look at some key retouching skills and how to improve workflow with the correct use of 'Bridge'.
